The insurance company offered a settlement 3 days after my car accident... should I take it?

Got rear-ended on Tuesday. I'm okay for the most part, just some bad whiplash and a really sore back. The other guy's insurance called me today and offered $2,500 to settle everything right now. It sounds like a lot of money to me, but my brother says I should talk to a lawyer first. Is it worth the hassle of a lawyer for a small-ish claim like this?
