Hey everyone, hoping to get some real-world advice here. Last week I got rear-ended at a red light. My car has some decent bumper damage, and my neck is still super stiff and sore, but nothing is broken. The other driver's insurance company called me yesterday and offered to pay for the car repairs plus a $1,200 payout for my 'troubles' if I sign a release today. My family is screaming at me to hire a personal injury attorney, but I've never done this before. I don't want a lawyer taking 33% of my money if the process is already moving forward. Has anyone been in this spot? Do lawyers actually get you enough extra cash to make their fees worth it for minor injuries, or should I just sign and move on?
