So I was in a pretty bad T-bone accident last Tuesday. Not my fault, the other guy ran a red. My car is totaled and my neck has been killing me since it happened. Their insurance company called today and offered $5,000 plus medical bills to close the case right now. It sounds okay, but a friend told me I'm probably getting lowballed. I’ve never dealt with this before and don’t want to get screwed over, but I also don't want to lose a chunk of the money to a lawyer if they can't actually get me much more. Has anyone been through this? Is it worth the hassle?
