Hey everyone, I was rear-ended a few days ago and the other driver's insurance is already calling me with a $1,200 settlement offer to 'close things out.' My car has some bumper damage and my neck is feeling pretty stiff, but I've never dealt with this before. Everyone says 'get a lawyer,' but I'm worried their fees will just eat up whatever extra money I might get. Has anyone actually seen a big difference in the payout by hiring an attorney for something that isn't a massive crash? I just don't want to get lowballed.
